welcome to new earth...

welcome one, welcome all: this is uncommon nonsense 2 point O.

i know i know: i was dead. buried. no longer to sail the ever capricious winds of the blogging world.

that was until meagan was all: i miss you.

and i was all: i miss me too!

what a coinky-dink.

so we'll be doing things a little different from now on. i wont be reviewing YA books, BUT i will be talking about absolutely everything else. including dancing monkeys.

and to help me along (and to also talk about those pesky YA books i can't talk about) will be MEAGAN!!!

meagan, say hi to the nice folks at home!

oh hai there!

you could say that i bullied nicole into coming back to us…. aaaand you would be correct. you’re welcome.

the down side for you guys is that you’ll occasionally have to endure my rants about YA and probably be a little bullied every now and again if i feel like i’ve found a book that you absolutely must read.

on a random slightly tangential side-note: 2012 is the national year of reading. just in case you needed another excuse to escape into a book and stay up until 3am reading on a school night…

back to the main story: maybe i should tell you all a little about my reading habits?  obviously i loves me a bit of YA, but i must admit that i steer heavily towards the fantasy/sci-fi end of the scale (generally because you still get the angsty teenage stuff, but diluted enough by the story-line that you don’t feel like you’re being forced to regress to your awkward teen self. )

at the moment i am particularly fond of and delighted by dystopia’s, steam punk and urbane fantasy.  i do also dabble a bit in the classic’s and contemporary fiction, but generally all you’ll be hearing from me is YA – i’ll leave the wonderful wide world of everything else fiction, books and publishing to nicole.

so grab your reading glasses and cuppa (yes, that was a stereotype) and get comfy, it’s going to be a book-tastic 2012!
