steel yourselves...

in the interest of sharing is caring and all that, i believe i should tell you:

TINTIN WAS AMAZING!

you know i'm seriously serious because of my capital usage... i get excited and the CAPSLOCK BUTTON GETS A WORKOUT!

amazing, in fact, pales in comparison to the bright winsome light of hope and awesomeness that is the tintin movie.

but, i'm getting ahead of myself. lets start at the beginning shall we?

the characters:

tintin- is one of those annoying know-it-all judgmental characters. not at all the impression i remember from the books and tv series, but hey, i was like 4.

he is an investigative journalist... i suppose. mostly i just felt like he was all holy-than-thou and a bit of a shit... which had the unfortunate backlash of making me find him rather attractive. this speaks volumes of the many issues i have with the not-so-fair sex and, quite frankly, underage boys. because i'm pretty sure he's not of legal age. but leaving behind my mental perversity lets move on...

catch phrase? 'great snakes'

captain haddock- quite possibly the best comic relief character EVER. a drunk, down-on-his-luck captain named after a 'sad english fish - haddock'.

catch phrase? "blistering barnacles!"

one can't help but be touched by the alliteration of our dear ole captain ('thundering typhoons' etc).

snowy- smartest dog in history. AND he puts up with the likes of tintin. he is a marvel of patience and virtue. snowy's appeal lies in contrast: snowy investigates murder, my dog investigates it's own poo (and then drags it in the house. can i get an ew?). snowy is all fearless, my dog works itself into a state just short of schizophrenic at the merest hint of a storm (doggie valium; beautiful thing). i could expunge on snowy's many many doggie virtues (not in the lease being smarter than his master) but i shall, instead present you with the most compelling reason to love snowy:

he's cuteness factor.

catch phrase? ummm woof?

the plot:

boy wonder and his very smart and intuitive dog are set to the high seas for a swimming good time with some treasure. aka: there are pirates. PIRATES. 'nuf said.

the graphics:

were RIDONKULOUS. especially captain haddock. sometimes i was hard pressed to remember this was an animation. IT WAS CRAZY.

my advice? duh, see it! it's like totes amazing. AND had the distinction of being one of the few movies where i did not drop my food on me in the dark... i'm a child in adult clothing apparently.

adios.
